If you can absorb all the knowledge which Immortal Technique drops then you will be able to truly appreciate the music which he makes. Immortal Technique is a hip hop artist who resides in Harlem, New York -- no doubt, a clever individual who uses his music to reach the masses to expose the truth on all the lies and corruption in the world touching on politics, religion and many more topics.
Immortal Technique does not hold back when it comes to music, with tracks like Dance With The Devil and Obnoxious amongst the many other tracks he has created you need to have a thick skin and a form of intelligence to catch the angle which Immortal Technique is coming from with his music. What I really like about Immortal Technique’s music is the fact that he doesn’t hold back on what he says, he doesn’t restrict himself to fit in with the world as we know it today and he isn’t scared to speak exactly what is on his mind -- for that I have a great deal of respect, people find it hard to do this in their daily lives amongst the people they are comfortable with. Immortal Technique does this everyday to millions of people who he has never even met in his life.
Let’s get on to the music, one of my most favourite tracks from Immortal Technique is The Point Of No Return, the production on this track hits hard and suits Immortal Techniques style perfectly. As usual the track is all we would expect of Immortal Technique, it’s real, uncut and intelligent. The many topics that Immortal Technique talks about on this track are amazing, it will blow you away! He flips the track from politics and government to talking about evolution of the world!
This is the point from which I can never return and if I back down now then forever I will burn, This is the point from which I can never retreat ’cause if I turn back now there can never be peace, this is the point from which I will die or succeed, living the struggle I know im alive if I bleed, from now on it can never be the same as before because the place that I’m from doesn’t exist anymore.
Another track which is amongst my favourites is Leaving The Past, my brother actually told me about this song. The beat is mellow and not your average beat, regardless it works well with Immortal Technique and like usual Immortal Technique drops even more knowledge. This track is different to the last, it isn’t direct like the last track but more so as if Immortal Technique was writing his thoughts through the means of his music. “I keep it reality based with the music I make, blow up the truth in your face” -- this line alone sums up the music Immortal Technique makes. Revolutionary music.
With collaborations with many well respected hip hop artists including Mos Def, Eminem, Pharoahe Monch, Joell Ortiz, Canibus, Jean Grae and many more Immortal Technique has definitely became a recognised name within the hip hop culture. The track Modern Day Slavery with Joell Ortiz is nice! With two of my favourite artists on the same track this is a melting pot of raw hip hop with a concious mind on todays world. Joell Ortiz brings a solid verse and holds his own on the track and Immortal Technique does exactly that too.
Whilst Immortal Technique’s music may not be for everyone (those who choose to live with a closed mind) it is for people who want to understand the world we live in better and those who seek the truth. Many critics would say that Immortal Techniques music is far fetched and claim that he has no proof to back up what he says but the truth is Immortal Technique is a very knowledgeable and intelligent individual, you only have to listen to one of his interviews to realise that, in fact, click on the video below for a very interesting interview with Immortal Technique.
